HOW WAS THE MARKET IN AUGUST '14
Overall Vancouver's market is continuing on at a good pace. July was a busier month than August as historically expected. When looking at Great Vancouver as a whole, prices have increased 7% from January 2013 to August 2014. That figure could be different for certain neighbourhoods and property types but it's a positive sign that the market is strong.
3 lofts traded hands in August with prices ranging from $323,000 for a studio at the Malkin at 141 Water St. to $648,000 for a great loft in Captain French at 41 Alexander St.
There are 22 listings to choose from as I'm writing this update. Last month I mentioned it would be nice to see some more properties come on the market and that still holds true. 5 lofts came on the market in August and 3 were sold. That is great for sellers, over 50% selling!
9 properties have been on the market since before August.
13 properties currently on the market are under the $500,000 mark and 2 are over $1mil.
